Bangkok, Thailand, is one of the world’s top tourist destinations, and there are a bunch of good reasons why! Bangkok is a city that never sleeps; there’s always something going on, and it’s usually fun! Some people might think the Big Mango is just for grown-ups, but there are plenty of great attractions to entertain children of all ages here! If you are traveling with kids, perhaps on your way to holiday on the Kingdom’s famous and fabulous beaches, don’t just rush through the capital; it’s well worth spending a few days in Bangkok; we promise you and the youngsters will be glad you did!
First off, make your reservation at the Soi 11 hotel in Bangkok; their top-notch lodgings are right in the heart of the city, just off exciting Sukhumvit Road. They have family suites that can house your entire brood in comfort and a fantastic pool to cool off in after you’ve spent a day on the town!
There’s so much going on in Bangkok that it’s hard to know where to begin! We’re just scratching the surface, but here are a few of our family favorites to get you started:
The Children’s Discovery Museum – This place is designed for kids, and it’s guaranteed to keep them engaged as they explore the wealth of educational activities this ‘discovery learning process’ museum has on offer! This means a hands-on approach to exhibits with fascinating interactive displays that ensure the learning and the fun are in equal supply! Located across the street from the famed Chatuchak Market, when you are finished with your museum fun, you can go on a shopping safari!
Fantasia Lagoon – This amazing waterpark is located up on the roof of The Mall Bangkae and features plenty of thrilling slips and slides for kids and adults to enjoy a wet and wild day of splishing and splashing! This is a great way to get a jump on your beach tan, but make sure you and the family are well-slathered with the sunscreen you brought in your kid’s Thailand travel pack!
Bangkok Butterfly Garden & Insectarium – Located in the expansive Chatuchak Park, this large and lofty glass-walled enclosure is the perfect habitat for Thailand’s incredible variety of fantastically colored butterflies! Wander through the cool shade of the fern-covered rockeries around the waterfall to catch glimpses of these delightful creatures up close! A great way to work some relaxing nature into your busy days of Bangkok urban exploration! The lovely Queen Sirikit Gardens are just down the path from the butterfly conservatory, making for a pleasant stroll beneath the palm groves and through the extensive flower gardens.
The safe and friendly Kingdom of Thailand is proud to welcome visiting families; check the Thai Embassy website for more information! We hope you enjoy vibrant Bangkok. You might have so much fun here that you might not even bother heading down to the beaches, although you should because they are also totally awesome!
